You can divide this into two individual rectangles and find the area of each, then add them. If you did this, the answer would be 74 square feet.

Multiply 11 with 9

11 x 9 = 99

Area of the whole is 99 ft²

Find the area of the parallelogram that is not part of the rectangle.
Subtract 11 with 6

11 - 6 = 5

Multiply 5 (length) with 5 (width)

5 x 5 = 25
Area of the part missing is 25 ft²

Subtract the whole with the part missing.

99 - 25 = 74

74 ft², or B) is your answer
