there are 12 people who are trying to get three spots on a school council. Andrew calculates that there are 1320 different outcomes. is Andrew correct? explain

No, he is not correct. 1320 would be correct if the order matters. But since the three spots do not need to be ordered, it needs to take out the ordering pairs from 1320. That is, 3!. So, 1320 / 3! = 220.
