Formula for P: P = 2W + 2L
Formula for A: A = WL

Here, P = 2(4 ft) + 2(7 ft) = (8+14) ft = 22 ft
and A = (4 ft)(7 ft) = 28 ft^2

Perimeter is the distance around a shape. To calculate perimeter, you do: 2l + 2w

Area is calculated by multiplying the length and width together.

Perimeter

The length is 7. 2l = 2 × 7 = 14
The width is 4. 2w = 2 × 4 = 8

Add together

14 + 8 = 22

\framebox{The perimeter is 22 feet}

Area

The length is 7, and the width is 4.

7 × 4 = 28
