Life under communism differed from life in a democracy in that under communism, the government owned the resources and means of production unlike under democracy where resources were privately owned. In Communist system, the freedoms of people were limited such as freedom of speech where they cannot criticize the government whereas under democracy, the freedoms of people were protected by the government.
