Hello there!

An outlier is a number that is far away from the others. In this data set, all the numbers are between 47 and 54 EXCEPT for 4.

Find the difference between the greatest number: 54

54 - 53 = 1
54 - 49 = 5
54 - 48 = 6
54 - 47 = 7
54 - 4 = 50

The greatest differene is between 54 and 4. Therefore, the outlier is 4 because it is far from the other numbers.

Hello!

\bf Answer:

\sf The~value~that~would~be~an~outlier~in~the~data~set~is~
\boxed{ \bf 4.}

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

\bf Explanation:

An outlier is a value that lies outside or is different from most of the values in a data set. In this set, 47, 48, 49, 53, and 54 are quite close to each other. The difference between 54 and 47 is 7. The difference between 4 and these numbers is quite big, which is what makes it the outlier of the data set.
