The density of a fish tank is 0.5fish over feet cubed. There are 30 fish in the tank. What is the volume of the tank?

These questions are kind of easy, take the given number, in this case it is 30 fishes, and ÷ that by 0.5. You just told us that there is an average of 1/2 fish in each cubic foot of tank.
We instantly calculated that there is an average of 1 fish in each 2 ft³.

(30 fish) / (1 fish/2 ft³) = 60 ft³

This is the only way you can handle the given information
and wind up with a quantity with units of volume.
