6x-(4x-4)=14

We have to unfold the brackets and change the sign of each term.

6x - 4x + 4 = 14

2x + 4 = 14 | - 4

2x + 4 - 4 = 14 - 4

2x = 10 | :2

2x:2 = 10:2

x = 5

Verification : 6*5 -(4*5 - 4) = 14

30 - 20 + 4 = 14

10 + 4 = 14

14 = 14 - true
