How will you visually determine if a colony growing on the surface of the PDA, which was inoculated with your cheese sample, is bacteria or yeast?

Bacterial colonies look like Ice Cream Drops. Bacterial colonies grow faster than fungal colonies. Bacterial colonies do not cover the whole surface.

Fungal colonies look a little like a smashed cotton ball. Fungal colonies grow slower than bacterial colonies. Usually, the fungus spreads through all the surface if given enough time.

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!
