The electrons and protons move throughout the atom. C. Electrons occupy fixed positions around the protons, which are at the center of the atom. D. D is correct.

Another equivalent explanation currently used is the watermelon. Thomson believed (if using the watermelon as an example) that the red part, was some kind of positive matter and the seeds where electrons - electrons stuck to a positively charged matter.

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!

Answer: The correct answer is Option D.

Step-by-step explanation:

J.J Thomson was an English scientist who gave the existence of two subatomic particles which are protons (positive particles) and electrons (negative particles).

He gave a model which was known as plum pudding model.

In his model, he considered that an atom to be a pudding or a bed of positive charge in which negative particles are embedded such as plum on the pudding.

Hence, the correct answer is Option D.
