proportion:
1/4 = 2/8 = 3/12= 4/16 and so on

2/8 = 3/12
is a porportion.
To find out, simplify each of the fractions.
(2/8)/(2/2) = 1/4
(3/12)/(3/3) = 1/4
2/8 = 3/12
is your answer
