The interval is [6,8]. Plug the ends of the interval into the equation:

x = 6

(3(6) - 6)/(6 - 2) = (12)/(4) = 3

x=8

(3(8) - 6)/(8-2) = (18)/(6) = 3

Both x-values have the same output of 3, so the average rate of change over the interval will be 0.

The answer is A. 0.
