Combine like terms on the left.
50 + 8q > 99
Subtract 50 from each side.
8q > 49
Divide both sides by 8.
q > 49/8
That's your final answer.

First we do 50+8q > 99, then we pass the 50 to the other side like this:
8q > 99 - 50, then 8q > 49.
At last, we divide, and we get: q > 49/8.
So the answer is: q > 49/8
