It's best to identify and then use the LCD.

The LCD here is 20; both 10 and 4 divide evenly into 20.

Thus, we have 6/20 - 5/20 = 1/20, or 0.05 (answer)

turn the fractions into fractions with common denomenators and then subtract numerators.

20 is a common factor

3/10 x 2 = 6/20

1/4 x 5 = 5/20

6/20 - 5/20 is 1/20 so that should be your answer :)
