HELP! VERY URGENT!

The weight of the passengers on board an elevator as it traveled from the first to the second floor was 165 pounds UNDER capacity. When the doors opened at the second floor, no one exited, and several people entered. The weight of the passengers in the elevator was then 85 pounds OVER capacity. What was the weight of the people that boarded the elevator on the second floor?

Please explain thoroughly! Thank you!

Capacity is the number of pounds the maximum number of pounds the elevator is built to hold. We don't know that number, but we don't need it. We can add the pounds under capacity and the pounds over capacity to find the weight of the people that boarded the elevator on the second floor. 165+85=250
