BANG! Something fell down the long winding staircase to the upper floors. The young girl was already half mad with fear at being left home alone during such a treacherous storm. She flattened her back against the wall and crept slowly toward the place she heard the sound. The ice-cold wall felt warm against her chilled skin and the scent of rain and fear tinged room. She was almost as white as the wall she leaned on then she heard footfalls and her face went from white to green as she tried not vomit up the fear.
