Hello.

The standard form is Ax + By = C, where A, B, and C are real numbers, and A is a positive integer.

Here are the steps:

(2)y = (-1/2x + 3)(2) -- you want to get rid of the fraction
2y = -x + 6 -- add x to both sides
+ x + x
x + 2y = 6 -- this follows standard form

x + 2y = 6 can be simplified even further to: x/2 + y = 3.
Both these equations are correct graph-wise,

I would use x/2 + y = 3 rather than x + 2y = 6.

Hopefully this makes sense. :)

Standard form is ax + by = c. Begin our transformation by multiplying both sides by 2 to get rid of the fraction. Notice that ax + by = c does not allow for fractions. Doing that multiplication gives us 2y=-x + 3. Now move the x over by the y by addition. x + 2y = 3. And there you go!
