The expression can be found by using the slope formula.
The expression used to calculate the rate per second at which the machine launches the ball is
40x.

5 because 20 divided by 4 is 5, 40 divided by 8 is 5, 60 divided by 12 is 5 and 80 divided by 5 is 16.
