There are 0 solutions because the lines are parallel meaning they never meet.

The two lines are parallel and will never intersect or cross one another. Therefore there are 0 solutions. This system is said to be inconsistent.

A non-visual way to get this answer is to note how y = 2x+2 and y = 2x+0 have the same slope (m = 2) but different y intercepts (b = 2 for the first; b = 0 for the second). Because of this, we know that there are no solutions. We can use substitution to find:
y = 2x
2x+2 = 2x
2 = 0 ... subtract 2x from both sides
The last equation is always false regardless of what x is. This is an algebraic way to say that there are no solutions.

In summary, the answer is choice C) 0 solutions
