Hello!
Since these triangles are similar, each side length of the smaller will have a ratio of 1/4 in relation to the larger. Therefore the area would also be
A)1/4
ratio.

Similar triangles with a ratio of r in the linear dimension will have a ratio of r^2 in area. So we're looking for (1/4)^2 = 1/16, Choice D
