First, we need to put 40 over 1 so that we can start multiplying.
Now we multiply straight across:
3 40 3*40 = 120
_ x _ = _ _ Now we have to simplify 120/5 by dividing.
5 1 5*1= 5
So, the answer is 120/5=
24

Change 40 to a fraction so that it will be easier to multiply
Multiply the numerators and denominators
Your answer is 24
