To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

1. By applying the Geometric Mean (Altitude)Theorem, you have:


(NO)/(OM) =(LO)/(NO) \\ NO=4\\ OM=k\\ LO=8

2. When you substitute values,and you solve for
k, you obtain:


(4)/(k) =(8)/(4)\\ 8k=16\\ k=2

The answer is:
k=2
