Let h (t) = -16t^2 + 64t +80 represent the height of an object above the ground after t seconds. Determine the height of the object after 3 seconds.

Plug in 3 for every t in the equation:


-16(3)^2 + 64(3) + 80

Solve each term:


-16(3)^2 = -16(9) = -144

64(3) = 192


-144 + 192 + 80 = 128

The height of the object will be 128 after 3 seconds.
