In baseball batting averages are expressed as decimal numbers if the player has had 8 hits out of 20 a bats what is his batting average and what percentage of the time does the player get a hit

To find the batting average divide the number of hits by the number of at bats.
Batting average = 8 / 20 = 0.400, which equals 40% of the time they get a hit.
