The meaning of the death of bone tissue which results from insufficient blood supply to an area of a bone is known as osteonecrosis.
It results from loss of blood supply to the bone. If there is no supply of blood, then the bone tissue dies, and it causes the bone to collapse.
It develops in any bone, for example, knees, ankles, shoulders, thigh bone and upper arm bone.
It is also called ischemic necrosis or avascular necrosis.
