The density of a liquid that is heated decreases.

When a substance is heated, the molecules and atoms in the substance speed up and move faster, causing the space between the molecules and atoms to increase. So, when a liquid is heated, the atoms in the liquid move faster and spread further apart; therefore, the density decreases.
