Hello!
Scientific notation is expressing a large number in a simpler form by multiplying it by
![10^(x)](https://img.qammunity.org/2019/formulas/mathematics/middle-school/z5vvs3x3jwiuul5l9w0qlshey1d5vyxstb.png)
.
In our case we need this number in scientific notation to equal the large number in standard.
5.018(
![10^(-8)](https://img.qammunity.org/2019/formulas/mathematics/college/jfs8amgulog5mjis4gykrqa259fxijgeew.png)
)=0.00000005018
This answer is
false because if you use a negative exponent you make the number not bigger but smaller and the answer we got does not match the standard number.
I hope this helps!
