we know that
the ratio of the recipe=(1 1/2)/(3/4)
1 1/2=1.5 cups of flour
3/4 stick of butter-------> 0.75 stick of butter
by proportion
1.5/0.75=x/3---------> 3*1.5=0.75*x
x=3*1.5/0.75----------> x=6 cups of flour
the answer is
6 cups of flour
