The section for grievances against King George III was included in the Declaration of Independence to show all of the injustices being committed against the American colonies. Many people spoke of improper taxation, maltreatment, business alterations, and personal struggles as a result of King George’s rulings. This was designed to make the king see all of his faults and persuade him towards approval.
