Brian is 15 years old and Jeremy is 22 years old. In how many years will Jeremy be 7 years older than three times Brians age now ?

Present age of Brian = 15 years

Present age of Jeremy = 22 years

When Jeremy will be 7 years older than three times Brians age now then his age will be = 3×15 + 7

= 45 + 7

= 52 years

So, the number of years for this case to happen is = 52 - 22 = 30 years

Therefore, In 30 years Jeremy be 7 years older than three times Brians age now

It will take 30 years for him to reach that age.

We are originally looking for three times Brian's age now plus 7, since that is the age that Jeremy will need to get to.

3(15) + 7 = Goal age
45 + 7 = Goal age
52 = Goal age

Then we can subtract his current age to find the number of years we have to wait.

52 - 22 = 30
