A and C are both right in their own ways. But I would go with A if I were you.

D is one of the mooooorrreeee incorrect ones.

A. Germans were unhappy with the state of their nation after World War I and the Great Depression.

Germany, on top of the Great Depression, had to pay war reparations, which, because of a large sum, forced Germany to print more money. However, that decreased their money's face value, and so prices skyrocketed, resulting in the Great Depression, and the rise of Adolf Hitlers power.
