Ashley has $62, part of which she wants to use to pay back money she owes people. She owes $13 to her brother and she owes $39 to her parents. After she pays her brother and parents, how much money will Ashley have left?

Ashley will have 10$ left because it is just subtracting 62-13-39=10$

If Ashley begins with $62, and she wants to pay back $13 to her brother and $39 to her parents, we should set up an expression to model this. Both of her payments back to her family are withdrawals from her total amount, meaning they must be subtracted. So we can set up the following expression:

62-13-39

After simplifying this expression by combining like terms, we get 10.

Therefore, after paying both her parents and her brother back, Ashley still has 10 dollars.

Hope this helps!
