The patriot surveillance is simply an attempt to infiltrate into the rights of citizens through massive unwarranted surveillance. This is because, citizens were in no way connected with the terrorists who planned and executed the bombing of 9/11. The government should not at all be allowed to execute such a massive form of surveillance over its citizen because over time it means that the populace transfers their rights of personal liberty to the state, and would live in fear, thus killing democracy. It can also be used wrongly by the states to silence dissenting voices.
