Some of the factors that led to lack of progress in scientific knowledge during the middle ages(500ad-1500ad)
a. suppression of scientific truth by the church
those who seemed to suppress established church dogma were quickly labelled heretic and excommunicated or persecuted
b. Lack of access to classical materialsThese materials were in the hand of a few and especially the wealthy, and the church, which ensured that they could not learn from classical knowledge which broke the connections between the philosophies until rennaissance.
