The answer is an analog transmission. It is a continuous sine wave that varies in phase, amplitude or frequency. Measured in Heartz (Hz). The other is digital transmission that has discrete pulses, rather than continuous, and the pulses represent bits (1s and 0s) which can only be modulated by the voltage or intensity (in optical transmission). Measured in Bits per Second.
