You can just look at the graph to find out the y intercept. The y intercept is the point where x = 0. The point for the y intercept is (0,-2). So B is definitely wrong.

To get the slope, you can just use the x intercept which is (-3,0)
When y = 0, x = - 3. We need to do a little calculation to get the slope.

So far what we have is
y = mx - 2
y = 0
x = -3

0 = m(-3) - 2 Add 2 to both sides.
2 = m(-3) Divide by - 3
2/-3 = m

Now let's see what we have.
y = -2/3x - 2

C is the correct answer
