The absolute value of a number (indicated by two straight lines) is the distance that number is away from zero. So, even if a number is negative, it's absolute value is positive. The only way that a number's absolute value would be negative is if there was a negative sign outside of the absolute value. Knowing this, since -25 is 25 'spaces' away from zero, the absolute value of -25 is 25.

When a number (x, for example) is placed in absolute values, |x|, the number inside will always be positive.

So, for your question:

|-25| will become 25

25 is your answer

hope this helps
