The answer to this question is AB / BC as cosine is defined for a right angle triangle as the ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the angle to the hypotenuse.

cos = adjacent leg/hypotenuse

Hypotenuse is BC.
For angle B, adjacent leg is AB.

cos B= AB/BC
