With the first one, you just plug the numbers inside the parentheses into f(x). Therefore:
f(-2)=40
f(-1)=18
f(0)=8
f(1)=10
f(2)=24
For the second one, you look at the table and find where x=1. The number there is 24, so therefore, f(1)=24
