5/6 is bigger than 1/30 in decimal form because 5/6 in decimal form is 0.863 and 1/30 is 0.03 and as my 5th grade math teacher always told my annoying, potato head classmates that when you take away the excess numbers and make them look like money 0.863 would be $0.86 which is greater than $0.03
