The statement above describes a SYMPOSIUM. A symposium refers to a public discussion, in which members of a group share the responsibility of presenting information about a particular topic to an audience. Each member of the group has to deliver his or her own speech.
A forum on the other hand refers to a situation in which an audience direct their questions to a group and group members have to answer the questions with impromptu speeches.
