a cell phone provider offers one plan that charges $3.75 for the text messaging feature plus $0.07 for each individual incoming or outgoing text alternatively, the provider offers a second plan with a flat rate of $16 for unlimited text messaging how many text messages would result in the unlimited option being the better deal?

Let the first plan be represented by the function
f(x) = 3.75 + x0.07 where x is the number of texts sent. We can then set this function to 16 and solve for x to find how many texts can be sent.

16 = 3.75 + x0.07

12.25 = x0.07

175 = x
So, for the first plan to cost exactly 16 dollars, you would need to send 175 texts. Anything 176 or over wound cost more than the second plan.
