If 9<4=(3x) and m<8=(x+40) what is the measure of <4? <4 and <8 are vertical

I'm thinking that 9 isn't supposed to be there in front of angle 4(?). So I'm going to pretend that that is an angle. If angle 4 and angle 8 are vertical, then they are congruent. Therefore, 3x = x + 40. 2x = 40 and x = 20. That means that the measure of angle 4 is 3(20) which is 60. Angle 8 would be 60 also. 20+40=60
