Penelope has $1,459.75 in her bank account. To pay her bills, she writes 4 checks in the amounts of $200.25, $359.45, $125, and $299.35. Then she deposits $375 into her account. Penelope’s account balance after she pays her bills and makes the deposit is $ .

First, lets subtract the bills from the balance one by one.
1459.75 - 200.25 = 1259.50
For the next bill, we subtract the value from the new value computed
1259.50 - 359.45 = 900.05
Same thing for the next bill.
900.05 - 125.00 = 755.05
Finally, the last bill.
755.05 - 299.35 = 475.70
Lastly, we'll deal with the deposit. Because the money is going into the account, we'll add instead of subtract.
475.70 + 375.00 = 850.70

So the amount in her account after all the transactions is 850.70.
