You'll have to simplify the equation, subtract 14 from both sides and then multiply both sides by 6:

(x)/(6)+14=18

(1)/(6)x + 14 = 18 (simplify equation)

(1)/(6)x = 18-14 (subtract 14 from both sides)

(1)/(6)x = 2 (multiply both sides by 6)

x = 24

Hope it helped,

So to solve this equation for x, we must first get x to one side
Start by subtracting 14 on both sides
x/6 + 14 = 18
-14 -14
x/6 = 4
Now in order to get the fraction to go away, we must do the opposite which is multiplication. So multiply each side by 6
x/6 = 4
x 6 x 6
Answer is X= 24
