You said: -3(x+3y) = 5

Multiply each side by -1 : 3(x + 3y) = -5

Eliminate the parentheses on the left: 3x + 9y = -5

Subtract 3x from each side: 9y = -3x - 5

Divide each side by 9 : y = -1/3 x - 5/9

There's your slop-intercept form.

Slop = -1/3
Intercept = -5/9

-3(x+3y)=5

-3x -9y =5
-9y=5+3x
y=-5/9 -(3/9)x
y = (-1/3)x-5/9

Slope = -1/3, y-intercept is (0, - 5/9)
