The prefix
milli- in the metric system means "one thousand." That means 1 liter is equal to 1000 milliliters.
To convert
1.78 liters to milliliters, multiply 1.78 by 1000:

There are 1,000 milliliters in one liter.
Multiply 1.78 liters by 1,000 to find how many milliliters there are.
