Passage 1:

Friends and neighbors, we must save Tall Oaks Arts Center. This place
contains so many memories. I remember learning pottery and weaving
here, and starring in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs back when I
was in second grade. I got to have so many precious experiences, and
some of my lifelong friendships were nurtured in this amazing place.
We need to do whatever it takes to keep the center open for the next
generation
Passage 2
Closing the Tall Oaks Arts Center is the best option for our city. While
the center has been a wonderful part of our history, its use has been
declining steadily for many years now. With an expanded arts program
in our public schools, local kids have been taking arts classes in
school instead of at the center, and most classes are now canceled
due to low enrollment. Furthermore, the building is now 83 years old,
and the inspection board has called for millions of dollars' worth of
repairs in order to make it safe.
