The reason why harassed minorities are viewed in this positive way is known as the "courage hypothesis".
Minorities may be harassed or constrained by the majority. Indeed, a " bothered" minority is in reality more convincing than a nonharassed minority on both immediate and circuitous measures of impact. The motivation behind why harassed minorities are seen all the more decidedly is established in the courage hypothesis—individuals who hold on even with hardship and mocking are seen as especially true, sure, and gallant, given that they will hazard social scold. The more daring the minority has all the earmarks of being, the more prominent the effect they have. Furthermore, if harassed minorities persevere openly ( as opposed to in private), they are much more respected and powerful.
