Balanced chemical equation

2 H2 + O2 = 2 H2O

2 moles H2 ----------- 1 mole O2
27.4 moles H2 ------ moles O2

moles O2 = 27.4 * 1 / 2

moles O2 = 27.4 / 2 => 13.7 moles

Answer : The number of moles of oxygen gas required are 13.7 moles.

Explanation : Given,

Moles of
H_2 = 27.4 moles

The given balance chemical reaction is:

2H_2+O_2\rightarrow 2H_2O

From the balanced chemical reaction we conclude that,

As, 2 moles of
H_2 react with 1 mole of
O_2

So, 27.4 moles of
H_2 react with
(27.4)/(2)=13.7 mole of
O_2

Therefore, the number of moles of oxygen gas required are 13.7 moles.
