we know that
if AC is a
tangent line segment
then
AC is perpendicular to segment BD
therefore
in the right triangle ABD
applying the Pythagorean Theorem
AD²=BD²+AB²
BD=0.6 in
AB=0.8 in
AD²=0.6²+0.8²----> AD²=0.36+0.64-----> AD²=1
AD=1 in
the answer is
the length of line segment DA is 1 in
